One More Time

It's been a tradition for at least six years that Mom and I go to the local coffee shop (Shoemaker and Hardt) at the end of the first day of school.  Today was a long day of school, but, good nonetheless.  So, after we finished, Mom and I headed to S&H.  Today is my last first day of high school. :-(  Which means it's my last first day of school coffee trip with Mom.  :-(  Which means this is really sad :-(

But also happy :-)

This place is really cool, for those of you who haven't experienced the thrill of Shoemaker and Hardt.  Thank you Mommy for the LARGE Italian Cream Soda!!!!

You never know what you'll find in there.  Right now it's a necessity to sell metal flowers since the real kind are having a little trouble surviving around here (things don't always grow so well when it feels like an oven).

So, it's begun.  My senior year has started and I know it will fly by in a flash.  I'm really excited about this year and the challenges it holds!  I was reading this morning in C.J. Mahaney's Cross Centered Life book about how the cross should be central in our lives. He quotes John Piper, "Paul (the apostle) was utterly mastered, held captive, by one great scene in history: a cross on Golgotha and on it the Son of God who loved us and gave Himself for us."  May we all strive to keep that "one scene in history" at the center of our lives this year!
