A Great Day

Today (well, it was today, but now it's 12:51 Monday morning) we went to two totally different churches.  Well, I say totally different, they both worship the same Jesus...and that's what really matters.  It's a beautiful thing to be able to unify in Christ.  Remember the guy Dad met in the park? Well, his name is Jamie and we went to his church this morning.  It was a very lively service. Different from what we're used to, but really great.  Here's a neat little story for you: (Side note, if you don't have time to read all this, skip the below story.)

Saturday night we were on our way back to our bed and breakfast when we decided to stop by a nice grocery store and pick up a special dessert to eat in the warmth of our room (remember the Parka weather?).  So, we trot in and spend ages trying to decide what to get.  There was a young man behind the bakery counter who asked if we needed help.  No, we were still deciding.  Well, finally we took him up on his offer.  He was indeed very helpful and pointed us to some lovely little cakes (they call sweet breadie things cakes) that were reduced in price to sell since they would have to throw them away.  Well, our minds were quickly made up.  We were getting the chcoclate chip, creamy, chocolate, double decker, luscious cakes...that were on sale for 45 pence. :)  As the guy was getting them wrapped up we had a nice conversation about where we were from.  Well, this morning, as we were sitting in our seats at church a guy comes up to us and says, "did you enjoy your cakes?"  It was the baker guy!  Isn't that neat?  Dad met a guy in the park who's a Christian, and we all met the guy who works at the grocery store, they know each other, and on top of that, go to the same church.  We thought it was pretty amazing and are blessed to see the care of our Creator through the encouragement He has given us at this church and with the people.

The church had a lot of young people around college age.  It was great to see a younger church.  Most of the churches we've been to have basically been older people.  Don't get me wrong, they're great!  But, you have to wonder where the Christian young people are.  So, it was nice to see a church filled with a younger generation passionate about their faith.

If you're still with me, I like you.  You've read through a lot of words!  Sorry I don't have more pictures to share in this post.  After the church service, we walked back to our B&B, took some pictures, called a taxi and boarded a train.

Yes, it's England, and it's rainy...what more could you expect?

The first morning we were there I saw these orchids and really liked them.  I love how orchids are so elegant, but yet simple.

When we got back we went to a lovely little church and Mom sang, I played, and Dad preached. It's such a sweet church!!!  IT'S SUCH A SWEET CHURCH!!! It's such a sweet church!!!  Do you see what I'm trying to get across?  The people in the church are awesome.  They are all older people and they are so very sweet (just incase you didn't already know.)  After the service and tea and snacks with them we went to the Martin's for dinner!  It was another delicious meal!  Unfortunately, we don't have any pictures:(  But, the plan is for them to come to our flat for dinner Friday.  I can just feel great picture opportunities waiting to happen since Anna and Lizzy are coming early to bake cookies!
